Recently, the National Natural Science Foundation of China officially announced the results of its project in 2019. Up to now, 52 projects of our school have been funded, and the number of projects and funding in our school is historically high, which has surpassed the 50 projects for the first time. Among them, there are 13 general projects and 39 youth projects. The total number of projects increased by 18.2% compared with 2018, and the funding for the project exceeded 17.23 million yuan, an increase of 18.8% over 2018.
The college carries out vigorous implementation of the Strategy of Human Resources and the introduction and cultivation of talents. Through SDUT and all of its schools’ careful plan, full mobilization and well organization, the number of national natural science fund projects in our college has increased steadily, and this year's project number has exceeded 50 for the first time. It’s the result of the long-term work of the scientific research personnel of SDUT, our attention to the development of basic edge of scientific technology research and the emphasis on connotation development, which fully manifests that the overall strength of fundamental research and scientific research level of our college are steadily improving.
It is reported that during the period that National Natural Science Foundation of China received the applications intensively in 2019, the National Natural Science Foundation of China had received a total of 240,711 applications, including 100,084 general projects and 100,376 youth fund projects. After review, the National Natural Science Foundation of China funded 18,995 general projects with a funding rate of 18.98%; and funded 17966 youth science fund projects with a funding rate of 17.93%. In 2019, our school applied for 106 general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, funded 13 projects with a funding rate of 12.26%; applied for 217 youth funds and funded 39 projects with a funding rate of 17.97%.
