On the afternoon of June 18th, our university and Qingdao Hisense TransTech Co., Ltd. held a signing and opening ceremony in the conference room on the 9th floor of Hongyuan Building, to jointly build the sub-center of National Urban Road Traffic Equipment Intelligent Engineering Technology Research Center.
LYU Chuanyi, secretary of the party committee, Prof. Yi Weiming, vice President and member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Meng Xian, General Manager and Song Fuliang, Director of Shandong Company of Qingdao Hisense Transtech, Wang Xueyan, General Manager of Zibo Company, Zhao Xiaoyu, deputy director and member of Party Committee of Zibo Bureau of Science and Technology, Zhang Zhijun, political commissar of Traffic Police Detachment of Zibo Public Security Bureau attended the ceremony. Other attendees included Principals of the Party Committee (President) office, Science and Technology Department, School of Transportation and Vehicle Engineering and representatives of the faculty.
After watching the publicity video of SDUT and Qingdao Hisense Transtech together, the Dean of School of Transportation and Vehicle Engineering read out the approval of the National Center for Intelligent Engineering Technology of Urban Road Traffic Equipment to set up a branch center in our school.
Zhao Xiaoyu said in his speech that SDUT and Qingdao Hisense Transtech signed the agreement to build a sub-center, which is not only another important achievement of the school-enterprise cooperation R&D platform, but also an important part of the integrated development of the university and the city. Based on its departmental functions, Zibo Science and Technology Bureau will accelerate the integrated development of the university and the city, smooth the channels of industry-university research cooperation in Zibo, and promote the city's science and technology development to a new level.
Zhang Zhijun said in his speech that the establishment of the sub-center will play an important role in accelerating the development of the smart traffic information industry in Zibo city and improving the management of urban road and traffic. Zibo Traffic Police Detachment will work closely with the two sides to actively provide the sub-center with a pilot field for scientific research innovation and technological achievements transformation, so as to facilitate the early production of research results.
Yi Weiming made a speech, saying the establishment of the sub-center is another landmark event to deepen the cooperation between schools and enterprises, which means that the fund for government, industry, university and research of transportation big data in Zibo has a new carrier, marking that the big data research cooperation mode of transportation industry in Zibo has entered a new stage. In the coming future, our schools will further improve the operating mechanism of sub-center, enhance investment in construction and funding, strengthen personnel training, fully utilize information technology advantages and innovative results, and advances the strategic action of big data, firmly take the commanding heights of the big data development. Thus the sub-center will be built into a first-class and domestically leading transportation big data research base, then providing new driving forces for government’s governance on innovation, industrial technology upgrading, data talent cultivation and social livelihood services.
The principal of Science and Technology Department and Song Fuliang, respectively on behalf of both parties, signed the cooperation agreement on the sub-center of National Urban Road Traffic Equipment Intelligent Engineering Technology Research Center. During the five-year term, the two sides will conduct cooperative research, technology promotion and application demonstration on key issues in the field of smart cities, especially smart transportation. Besides, the two sides will jointly apply for projects or scientific and technological awards, establish a talent sharing mechanism and recruit talents for temporary exchange. The sub-center consists of 5 research labs, including traffic planning and design, human-vehicle-environment collaborative intelligence and traffic big data, road traffic safety, intelligent vehicle road system, and intelligent traffic control.
