Eight Majors Pass China Engineering Education Accreditation

Recently, the China Engineering Education Accreditation Association and Education Quality Evaluation Agency of the Ministry of Education successively released 422 accreditation conclusions and a list of engineering education certified majors such as mechanical engineering of Southwest Petroleum University. Eight majors, including Mechanical Design Manufacture and Automation, Material Forming and Control Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, Traffic Engineering, Transportation, Automation, Chemical Engineering and Technology, and Civil Engineering, passed the engineering education accreditation. Up to now, a total of 10 majors in SDUT have passed the engineering education accreditation, all of which are included in the mutual recognition list of the Washington Accord, marking its quality to achieve substantial international equivalence and enter the “first rank” of global engineering education.

It is reported that accreditation is an important part of the national “Five-sphere Integrated Plan” education and teaching quality assurance system in the new era and an important grasp to improve the quality of professional construction and talent training for universities. In recent years, the accreditation has promoted the university and professional levels to firmly establish and practice the educational concept of “student-centered, output-oriented and continuous improvement”, established and perfected the “bottom line” mechanism of quality assurance, accelerated the lasting enhancement of the quality of professional talents training and the connotation construction of the school’s quality culture, and played a significant role in attracting excellent students and improving the quality of employment. SDUT will further strengthen the accreditation of engineering education and normal majors, and at the same time, it will guide various majors such as liberal arts, science, business and law to seriously practice the OBE education concept and actively participate in the internal certification evaluation.
