Master of Transportation Engineering Program Passed External Experts Peer-Review


External experts were invited by SDUT to carry out on-site assessment of the Transportation Engineering Master Program from May 20th to 21st. CUI Huanyong, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president of SDUT, attended the report meeting. CHEN Jing, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president of SDUT, participated in the feedback meeting. Heads of the Graduate Studies’ Office, the members of the leadership team, the discipline leaders, the representatives of the faculty, and the representatives of the postgraduate students from the School of Transportation and Vehicle Engineering, took part in the meeting. After the assessment, the expert group unanimously agreed that his program passed the assessment.

Professor LIU Zhengjiang from Dalian Maritime University headed the  expert group. The expert group members included Professor LING Jianming from Tongji University, Professor ZHANG Ruhua from Shandong University, Professor REN Ruibo from Shandong Jianzhu University, and Professor QU Dayi from Qingdao University of Technology.

SDUT held an assessment report meeting at room 211 of No.12  building on May 20th. CUI Huanyong said that the assessment of the program was not only a “big test” for the construction of the program but also an important opportunity to improve the level of program running and the quality of talent cultivation. The discipline of transportation engineering had formed its own characteristics and had certain advantages in the fields of new energy vehicles and their application, traffic big data, and vehicle-road cooperative control. He hoped that all experts could put forward valuable opinions and suggestions for the construction and development of the program to further improve the discipline’s construction level .

The head of the discipline made a report on the history of the discipline, the self-assessment of the qualification assessment, and the focus on the next improvement step. Participating experts listened carefully to the report, scrutinized the supporting materials, and held talks with teachers, students, and administrative staff.

In the morning of May 21st, the expert group went to No. 6 teaching building, mechanical traffic experiment building and No. 12 teaching building to inspect the relevant laboratories and platforms of teaching and research.

SDUT organized an assessment feedback meeting in room 211 of No.12 teaching building in the afternoon of May 21st. Professor LIU Zhengjiang, the leader of the team, delivered the comments of the expert group, which fully affirmed the construction of program and unanimously agreed that: the self-assessment report of the program was written in a standardized way, with sufficient supporting materials, detailed content, which were all in line with the requirements and standards of the assessment and agreed to pass the qualified assessment.

CHEN Jing expressed his gratitude to the experts for their valuable comments and suggestions and said that SDUT would seriously implement the feedback of the expert group to further enhance the level of discipline construction and the quality of talent cultivation. He hoped that the experts would continue to pay attention to, care about and support the construction and development of SDUT.
