Shandong Provincial Department of Education replied to SDUT on May 19th, agreeing to the establishment of four new vocational and technical normal education training programsin four majors at the undergraduate level, including mechanical and electronic engineering, new energy vehicles engineering, electronic information engineering, and chemical engineering and technology.
At the end of last year, Shandong Provincial Department of Education, Office of Institutional Organization Commission of Shandong Province, Shandong Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Shandong Provincial Department of Finance, as well as Human Resources and Social Security Department of Shandong Province jointly issued the “Implementation Plan for Deepening the Reform of TeamConstruction of Teachers in Vocational Education in Shandong Province in the New Era”, proposing the implementation of excellent teacher training of the vocational education program. According to the program, the Teaching Affairs’ Office led the School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Transportation and Vehicle Engineering, School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering to carry out the demonstration and declaration of the setting of vocational and technical normal education training majors at undergraduate level from the aspects of national policy orientation, social talent demand situation, curriculum, teaching guarantee and practical teaching, which finally passed the approval of the Shandong Provincial Department of Education successfully and will start enrollment this year.
In the reply letter, the Shandong Provincial Department of Education requested SDUT to thoroughly carry out the implementation plan of the national vocational education reform, the “Professional Accreditation Standard for Vocational and Technical Normal Education” of the Ministry of Education and the relevant policy requirements for teacher education, focus on the strategic needs of the reform and development of vocational education as well as industrial transformation and upgrading of Shandong province, concentrate advantageous resources onstrengthening the construction of relevant majors, and highlight professionalism, pedagogics and professionalism in the talent training plan, emphasize on improving students’ professional practice ability, guide students to obtain professional vocational skill grade certificates or vocational qualification certificates, establish a systematic training mechanism with local education administrative departments, industrial enterprises and vocational colleges to effectively improve the talent training quality of vocational and technical normal education, and put forth effort to training high-quality professional “Double-Qualified” Teachers.
